Usage Note
Varistor, còn được gọi là điện trở biến đổi (voltage-dependent resistor – VDR), được sử dụng để bảo vệ các mạch điện khỏi các xung điện áp quá mức. Khi điện áp vượt quá một ngưỡng nhất định, điện trở của varistor giảm mạnh, cho phép dòng điện chạy qua nó thay vì mạch được bảo vệ, từ đó triệt tiêu xung điện áp.
